Summary: Don't waste your money
Comment: I wish I could give this a good rating, but I can't. The keyboard is just... bad. There's no other way to describe it. Far too often, it goes into sleep mode and when it wakes up, the first letter you type gets omitted. If you are a gamer or someone who likes to chat online, you'll get frustrated day in and day out by the keyboard. It also has a bad habit of "sticking" at times. So, for instance, if you were to try typing a letter, it would repeat the letter 50 times. It's an annoyance, but again, if you are a gamer and use WASD to move, you'll be horrified when that W key sticks and you auto-run somewhere you shouldn't be. Leroy Jenkins, is that you?
Again, I wish this combo had delivered. Bluetooth seems to be the wave of the future, after all. While I do like the Bluetooth aspect of the mouse, and I like the mouse itself, the keyboard's shortcomings are too numerous to overlook. If I could rate each individually, I'd give the Mouse a 4.5 and the keyboard a 1. Combined, however, I am forced to give the overall product 2 stars (and that may be generous).

Summary: Good for it's time, but now there are better options.
Comment: I have owned this keyboard/mouse combo for a few years now. It had some serious issues to begin with as far as connectivity was concerned, but those are mostly resolved with software updates. That said, the mouse often get's laggy when only 10' away from the bluetooth dongle, which I have plugged into a usb enxtension that came with a wifi adapter, so it is away from any devices that might cause interference. Also, the touch zoom and volume sliders have never worked well at all, they are touchy and often very delayed, a simple push-button approach would have been much better.
Other than those isssues it's a great setup, about the only decent one for a HTPC setup until the 5500 came out. I have one on the way, I hope it is as improved as the reviews and promotions indicate, and at about the same price as this one, it's predecesor, it's a no brainer.

Summary: Logitech pluses and minuses
Comment: This Bluetooth combo is a replacement for my previous Logitech wireless combo, which I much preferred; in fact, I would have bought another if they still made them, but nooooo---we have to have a fancy touch-sensitive Media Control Panel these days instead of an analog dial you could spin to adjust volume and---gasp!---a MUTE button instead of a touch-it-and-wait-a-minute-okay-press-it-harder-maybe-it'll-work-then "touch sensitive" thing.
Worse, if you learned to type the hard way, and therefore have your hands in an Officially Unapproved Position, you might find the image zooming or the volume going up up UP UP because your left pinkie is lolling about on the touch pad. . . ask me how I know! Fortunately, you can disable this entire crappy whiz-bang element.
One problem I have not figured out is the fact than when booting up, the PC will not respond to keyboard inputs: So much for accessing the BIOS or otherwise interceding during the launching process.
So far---six months, maybe? Nine?---I have had only occasionally Bluetooth connection glitches, but I do get occasional runaway keys, watching helplessly as a Word document starts recording sssssssss or some other key, line after line after line.
The mouse, as others have noted, is exxxxcellent---though as heavy as a Ford F150 pickup. But since it's the same mouse that came with my previous keyboard, I now have two of them. And the one before THAT was just one generation back, the Laser 700. So now I'm being overrun with mice!
I will probably go back to the last-gen Logitech. I replaced it only because one of the feet broke off, so I had been using it balanced on a pile of mouse pads on one corner. As for this one, I will give it to my wife to see if she can get it running on the other end of the room with her Intel Mac.
Yes, and she has a bigger monitor than I do, too!

Summary: logitech cordless desktop mx 5000 laser
Comment: I enjoy using the cordless mouse with my computer, I do not have to worry about the cord getting in the way when I want to turn away from the computer. I have not really used the key board enough to learn all the different features it has.

Summary: Flaky
Comment: I had a wireless keyboard before and have never had such connection issues. Currently the keyboard will not reconnect after the computer restarts after going in standby. This has not always been the case, but there has always been some connection issue and it can be 10 minutes and numerous power cycles of the keyboard until it gets resolved. The hardware reliability has been poor too. The keyboard had a sticky key and they sent me a new keyboard and mouse. I was thrilled with the second mouse until it failed within a few weeks. I dislike having to recharge it every couple days, I preferred replacing batteries a couple times a year. The mouse does work great though and the keyboard has a neat calculator feature. The shortcut keys on the keyboard are nice too, although the volume and zoom control are not useful to me.
